When Film is switched off the liquid crystal in the polymer matrix are in random state making light to scatter to cut off the light. When Film is switched on, the liquid crystal in the polymer matrix orients in line along the electric field and allow the light to pass. Polymer/Liquid Crystal Composite material is suitable to develop products using films, as it is easy to coat on film. The production process is also easy and economic. Polymer/liquid crystal composite material is considered potential material for low power consumption LCD and next generation flexible display for E-Paper/Book Application.

The concept of window for green building is more as multifunctional rather than simply a piece of glass. Window systems that have variable optical & thermal control properties that could be changed in response to climate or occupant preferences is highly desired. By actively managing light and cooling system, these windows could reduce peak electrical loads by 20-30% in many commercial buildings. E-Blind is the second generation electrically switchable LC glazing film for light control application as well as multimedia screen application. E-Blind is electrically connected to a controller with embedded software for control of transparent/Opaque state of each slat using remote control.
